About Shola Sings Motown:
Shola kaye is a london-based singer who has performed at shepherd's bush empire, hyde park and many other venues in the uk - as well as singing live in new york and los angeles.
shola has performed at gigs supporting stars such as paul young and tony hadley and has entertained at weddings and corporate functions in front of audiences as large as 15,000 people. She also performs in a live jazz trio as well as her 'shola sings the divas' and ‘shola sings jazz’ solo shows.
shola spent eight years living in the united states, where she began working with one of the world's top vocal coaches, seth riggs (stevie wonder, natalie cole and the late luther vandross are among his many star pupils). She has continued this relationship with seth and his team of coaches - indeed, she will be returning to los angeles this summer 2009 to spend a further ten days working with them.
shola sings with true passion and feeling - she can give people goosebumps and a great time all at once. She can be soulful, sultry or sassy, depending on what she’s singing and each of her shows features some of the most fantastic music ever written.
Show Description:
shola sings motown’ is a classy, high-energy solo show that showcases some of motown’s best-loved material. Featuring all time greats from your favourite motown artists such as stevie wonder, diana ross and the supremes, the temptations and martha reeves and the vandellas, this show is designed to get you on the dance floor and keep you there!
shola provides all the grace, glitz and glamour required to be a true diva. She takes to the stage wearing beautiful custom-designed evening gowns and truly looks the part with her graceful silhouette, lovely smile, beehive hairdo and diamante jewellery.
shola’s vocals have been described as sounding like “chocolate soul”. She has a powerful, smooth yet expressive voice which attracts positive feedback wherever she sings. With a warm, inviting stage presence and charming persona, it’s hard not to be enthralled by her performance.
a favourite part of the show is when shola invites two of the audience up on stage to be “the supremes”. With their own microphones and tambourines, shola runs through a dance routine with them before the “backing singers” perform a song with her, much to the delight of everyone watching.
'shola sings motown' is a unique experience. Comprising stage lighting, a custom-designed backdrop and of course, the wonderful music of motown, it's a show not to be missed!

There will be an additional charge for this option. For smaller gigs, the price includes custom backdrop, pa, and lighting)
