About Stencil:

4 piece line-up

brian heywood (electric guitar)
originally hailing from australia, brian cut his musical teeth playing with the top sydney band bluetongue. Since arriving in england he has played in a number of rock and folk/rock outfits as well as in more mainstream rock and blues bands.

dawn webb (vocals)
as well as being a vocalist in several bands, dawn has travelled extensively throughout the uk with musical theatre shows, performed in old time music hall, street theatre, pantomime, fringe theatre plays and has run her own theatre company both writing and directing shows.

huw pryce (bass guitar)
huw is from north london and has a long history with various bands since the 1980's.

mike vishnick (kit)
mike is originally from east london and plays with brian in the london based rock band the quirky. Mike brings an incredible level of energy to the band as well as a great deal of percussive showmanship.

for larger line-ups

thomas fairbairn (keyboards)
from the north of england specialising in folk, jazz-rock and collaborative projects with bands in various styles.

sian phillips (fiddle and backing vocals)
if you want to add searing fiddle solos and additional vocals than sian's tremedous experience in a wide range of genres adds another dimnetion to the stencil sound.

Hits from the 70's, 80's and 90's

the repertoire is an eclectic mix of pop, rock with a touch of country rock, all from the second half of last century, from both sides of the atlantic. Don got it wrong in his song 'american pie'; the music never died, it was just caged by time and stencil can set it free.
